The island director of the General State Administration in Lanzarote, Pedro Viera, has highlighted the celebration, for the first time on the island, of a meeting of the Civil Guard to discuss internal and security matters.

The meeting took place in the municipality of Teguise and was attended by the head colonel of the Las Palmas Command, Javier Peña de Haro, as well as unit heads and officers from the province and Lanzarote.

The Civil Guard holds this type of meeting periodically, but until now it had never been held in Lanzarote. The celebration of this meeting on the island promotes the institution's commitment to the security and coordination of its personnel in the island territory.

Pedro Viera highlighted the relevance of this meeting in the context of improving security in Lanzarote, stressing the importance of cooperation between the different units to guarantee an effective service to citizens.

For his part, the head colonel of the Las Palmas Command, Javier Peña de Haro, pointed out that these meetings allow improving the operability and response capacity of the Civil Guard, optimizing coordination between the different commanders and units.

The act reflects the interest in strengthening the presence and work of the Civil Guard in Lanzarote, ensuring a proactive approach in the management of security and the well-being of citizens.
