Last Sunday, the Environment Department of Lanzarote denounced the "uncivil attitude" of citizens for throwing furniture in the middle of the countryside in Teguise. The Environmental Agents published an image on their networks in which sofas, tables, cabinets and other types of belongings appear thrown in a rural area of the island.

From the Cabildo of Lanzarote they wanted to show the people of Lanzarote again the "lack of civic sense" of some citizens. They have published the photograph with an ironic and original message to warn the population of the consequences of throwing waste on public roads. "Have you lost some bright red sofas and some other belongings?. If so, we will assist you at the following number: 928-598-548. Sincerely, the Environmental Agents", they have published on their official X (Twitter) account.

In addition, it is not the only act of incivility that has been seen these days in Lanzarote. A resident of Arrecife was caught 'in flagrante delicto' while throwing rubble next to the garbage containers in the capital. The Local Police managed to identify the person who was unloading several white bags next to the garbage containers. In the course of the action it was discovered that these bags were full of construction materials, such as plastic pipes and cement waste, adding up to a total of nine bags in the area, according to the proceedings carried out.

It must be remembered that the sanctions they face have three categories: minor infractions, with fines ranging from a simple warning to 3,005.06 euros. In the case of serious infractions, with fines ranging between 3,005.06 and 30,050.60 euros. Finally, very serious infractions, which are subject to a sanction from 30,050.60 to 60,101.21 euros.
