The magazine 'Viajes National Geographic' has chosen Haría among the hundred most beautiful natural enclaves in Spain. A list of trips in which four rural destinations in the Canary Islands have been chosen among the winners. "We have selected these rural enclaves of our geography as essential destinations for a getaway," the publication pointed out.
According to the magazine, the main reason for choosing these places has been based on their rich heritage, their urban design and their harmonious integration with the environment make them authentic jewels, the newspaper La Provincia has collected in one of its articles. The objective of the ranking is to offer the reader the possibility of exploring the most emblematic towns in the country, in which to admire places declared World Heritage Sites and enjoy the exquisite local gastronomy.
The town of Haría occupies the 26th position on the list, known for a rich peasant and artisan tradition, and its famous market, which is held on Saturday mornings. In addition, it houses two of the most touristy places in Lanzarote: los Jameos del Agua and the Cueva de los Verdes. The northern municipality also has the Volcano de La Corona, a volcano with perfect shapes.
