A Ryanair flight originating from Tenerife South airport and with final destination in the United Kingdom had to divert this Friday morning to César Manrique-Lanzarote airport due to a medical emergency on board.
According to air traffic controllers through their account on the social network X (formerly Twitter), the crew of the plane contacted the Enaire control center in the Canary Islands by radio to request the diversion, after detecting that one of the passengers had medical problems.
From the control center, the plane was provided with a continued descent and a direct approach to runway 03 of the Lanzarote airport, while coordinating with the emergency services for healthcare on the ground.
The controllers have publicly expressed their best wishes for the affected passenger, wishing them a speedy recovery.
