Family of tourists walks with their suitcases down the middle of a highway to not miss a flight to Lanzarote

A family of British tourists had to walk down the middle of a motorway in the United Kingdom after a traffic accident to avoid missing their flight to Lanzarote from the English city of Birmingham, according to the outlet CoventryLive.

Kaiya Brown, her husband, and their two young children left home five hours early to head to the airport. However, the overturning of a car transporter changed their plans completely. 

Because of this, traffic came to a complete standstill as the transporter completely occupied the motorway. Seeing that traffic was not moving and that they were going to miss their flight, they decided to get out of the Uber they were in and continue on foot to the airport, about twenty minutes away.

After getting out of the car and with suitcases in hand, the family had to climb up an embankment to get a second Uber. In fact, some drivers helped the family up and the police helped them cross the road. "The Uber that picked us up didn't have air conditioning, so I was drenched in sweat and covered in mud and brambles from climbing the embankment," one of the members stated.

Despite the little time to get through security control and reach the boarding gate, the tourists managed to get on the plane. "We were the last to board and made it by a matter of minutes," they recounted.
