The CEO of the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism, Ángel Vázquez, also spokesperson for the Popular Party in Lanzarote, is at the center of public debate after it became known that his son has obtained a permanent position in the same public entity that his father directs. This was first reported by the newspaper La Provincia and has been confirmed by La Voz.
In a resolution signed on November 12 by councilor Ángel Vázquez, the assignment of permanent positions for dishwashers in the Centers was resolved through a competition of merits and opposition. On this occasion, the competition was to satisfy the demand for dishwashers in an external promotion process, after the internal one had been declared void.
In this call, a reserve list was not formed because there were not enough candidacies that completed the entire process. In previous phases, the candidacy of up to 25 people had been studied.
The resolution states that thirteen workers obtained permanent positions through this procedure. One of them, the son of the CEO of the centers, entered in seventh position (with 55.25 points).
The call included three different scales: merits, opposition, and interview. The candidate achieved five points out of a maximum of 40 in the merits section, 31 out of forty in the opposition section (the second highest score in this category), and 19.2 out of twenty in the interview.
Thus, according to the agreement, dishwashers are in Professional Group V of the Staff Personnel with a gross annual salary of 22,080 euros.
