The workers of the company Arrecife Bus, concessionaire of interurban transport in Lanzarote, see "closer" the beginning of the indefinite strike planned for mid-April after verifying the "disinterest" of the company to reach an agreement.

After the meeting held this Wednesday, the company has acknowledged "not having the capacity to develop a rotating day off schedule for all workers without affecting people who already have Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays and Mondays off". They have communicated from Arrecife Bus. Something that the workers reject and for which they will present an alternative schedule before next Tuesday.

Likewise, the company insists on "maintaining the fifteen minutes of daily breaks on the lines", relying on a "self-serving interpretation of the law and the regulations", which the workers' representation "does not accept under any circumstances."

Vacations in the middle of the conflict

In addition, at the meeting the workers were informed that the "head of the traffic department is absent on vacation until April 15, the date on which the strike begins at Arrecife Bus, which means that the possibility of "reaching agreements is reduced to practically zero".
