The Traslación Dance Festival has opened the call for the Traslación 2025 Scholarship, a program designed to support young dance students and dancers in the process of professionalization residing in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.

The selected participants will participate in the official program of the VII edition of the festival with their own choreography, which they will present on October 30 in the ImproDanza session, in Arrieta. In addition, they will receive support to continue their training in 2026, both in Lanzarote through the Traslación Training Plan and in national festivals of the Acieloabierto Network.

The scholarship is aimed at young people over 15 years of age in 2025. Those interested should submit an original choreography on video, of between three and five minutes, in disciplines such as classical dance, flamenco, contemporary dance or urban dances. The deadline for submitting applications ends on October 10, and the results will be communicated between October 13 and 17.

The organization will cover the travel and accommodation expenses of those participants who do not reside in Lanzarote. As a closing of the process, the beneficiaries of the scholarship will develop in 2026 a choreographic piece directed by an invited professional, which will premiere in the next edition of the festival.

With this scholarship, the Traslación Festival reinforces its commitment to young talent and offers a concrete opportunity for new creators to take their first steps in the professional circuit of contemporary dance in the Canary Islands. In the words of Acerina H. Toledo, director of the Festival, this is "another way to strengthen the artistic fabric linked to contemporary dance in the Canary Islands."
