Two professors from the University School of Tourism of Lanzarote (EUTL), a center attached to the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and dependent on the Cabildo of Lanzarote, have achieved a significant academic achievement with the publication of their research in a chapter of the book Tourism Entrepreneurship: Knowledge and Challenges for a Sustainable Future, by the renowned international publisher Springer Nature.

Dr. Tamara González, as the first author, and Dr. Pedro Calero, together with Dr. Desiderio García Almeida and Margarita Fernández Monroy from the ULPGC, have written the chapter entitled Immigrant Entrepreneurs and Their New Firms in the Tourism Sector: Analysis of the Knowledge Construction from Experience.

The Councilor for Education of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Ascensión Toledo, congratulated the authors, highlighting the importance of this milestone for the island's educational community. "This publication not only represents a remarkable achievement for the faculty of the EUTL, but also reflects Lanzarote's commitment to academic excellence and the promotion of sustainable tourism," she says.

This research delves into the essential role of immigrant entrepreneurs within the tourism sector, emphasizing how accumulated experience promotes the creation of knowledge and contributes to the sustainable development of their companies. The approach of this work offers an innovative and relevant perspective for tourism, one of the key sectors of the Canary Islands economy.
