A worker had to be transferred this Tuesday to the Molina Orosa hospital after suffering a work accident at the Hotel Costa Calero, in Puerto Calero, after one of his fingers got trapped in an electric pallet truck.

The Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) alerted of the incident at 09:50 hours, mobilizing to the site members of the Consortium of Security and Emergencies of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.

While en route to the service, the firefighters contacted the alerter, who informed them that the worker's finger had already been freed, although the affected person presented injuries that required urgent medical attention.

Upon arrival, the personnel provided initial assistance to the injured person and remained with him until the arrival of health resources. Once stabilized, the worker was evacuated by ambulance to the hospital to continue with his medical care.

A patrol from the Guardia Civil also intervened in the operation, opening the corresponding proceedings to clarify the circumstances in which the work accident occurred.
