A woman had to be rescued after suffering a fall in a rocky area in Playa Blanca, according to the Emergency Consortium.

The incident took place around 6:30 p.m. this Monday, August 31, on Las Coloradas beach.

After being alerted by CECOES, Local Police officers, an ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service, and firefighters were dispatched.

Healthcare personnel attended to the swimmer, who presented with severe pain in her right knee. She was stabilized until the arrival of the firefighters who, in collaboration with the healthcare professionals, applied a splint and proceeded to transfer her, on the rescue board, to the ambulance stretcher, where she was moved to a vacuum mattress.

Subsequently, she was evacuated by ambulance to the Molina Orosa Hospital.
