A woman died this Wednesday after drowning on Matagorda beach, in the municipality of Tías, as reported by CECOES. The events occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m. when several bathers pulled her out of the water with signs of drowning.
The woman suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest and despite the resuscitation maneuvers performed by the lifeguards and later by the health services, they could not reverse the situation.
A basic life support ambulance, a medicalized ambulance, Local Police, Civil Guard, firefighters from the Emergency Consortium and a doctor and nurse from Primary Care of the Tías Health Center have been dispatched to the scene.
For their part, the Civil Guard agents were in charge of carrying out the corresponding procedures.
