The Civil Guard of Fuerteventura arrested on July 4, 2025, two people, one of them 46 years old and another 41 years old, as alleged perpetrators of several crimes of robbery with force inside establishments, for stealing cash registers, articles and objects for a total value of 22,502.15 euros in the municipality of La Oliva, in Fuerteventura.
The Main Post of Corralejo became aware of a series of robberies after the presentation of complaints by representatives of several commercial brands and catering establishments in the area. These complaints reported the theft of goods in the premises, some of which had been assaulted on several occasions.
The events occurred at night, between December 2024 and June 2025. The perpetrators went to the establishments using rental vehicles, whose license plate numbers they hid during the commission of the crimes. To hinder their identification, they used disguises and wigs that partially covered their faces.
The modus operandi coincided in all the robberies, they forced the entrance doors using blunt tools such as mallets and shears, thus managing to enter the premises and perpetrate the robberies.
In a matter of minutes, they managed to steal an undetermined amount of cash from the cash registers, as well as electronic devices they found, some bottles of alcohol and large quantities of tobacco valued at more than 10,000 euros.
Among the main actions, the detailed analysis of the images captured by different video surveillance systems stood out, as well as the carrying out of discreet follow-ups to the suspects and to the
establishments that were considered potential targets of the criminals.
Thanks to the expertise of the investigators, the meticulous examination of the recordings allowed identifying revealing characteristics: the faces of two individuals, whose silhouettes and clothing fully matched the perpetrators of the robberies. It was especially striking that both dressed in the same way in several of the crimes, which reinforced their identification.
These tests, together with other indications collected during the investigation, allowed narrowing the siege on the two alleged responsible, who were finally arrested as alleged perpetrators of seven crimes of robbery with force, based on the forceful evidence provided.
The detainees together with the instructed proceedings were placed at the disposal of the Duty Court of Puerto del Rosario (Las Palmas).
