A bus driver from Intercity Bus Lanzarote suffered an assault while working on a regular route on the island. A video that has accumulated more than three million views and was recorded by a Russian tourist shows how a violent passenger assaulted a bus driver who was on duty.

According to the newspaper La Provincia, the events took place in mid-July. Specifically, on July 16, although it has not been disseminated on social networks until three days ago.

The passenger was traveling on line 62, which connects Playa Blanca with Arrecife, passing through Tías. The bus was near the Ferretería Tías de Abajo stop when the passenger began to berate the driver to stop the vehicle at an unregulated stop.

The man claimed he had an emergency and asked the driver to open the door, while he continued driving the bus. Faced with the driver's refusal, the passenger removed the security screen that separates the driver from the rest of the bus occupants and berated him: "What a crazy guy!"

The passenger repeated that he had an emergency and wanted the driver to open the bus. "We're going to crash, brother, stop" or "get out of there" were some of the comments shouted by the rest of the passengers who tried to appease the situation.

At one point, the driver stopped the bus and tried to call the police. At that point, the conflicting passenger touched one of the bus's controls to try to open the door, while grabbing the driver's arm with the other hand.
