Firefighters rescued two German women who had accidents on Playa Papagayo and Playa Mujeres, in the municipality of Yaiza, as reported by the Emergency Consortium.
The first incident occurred at around 4:20 p.m. this Monday, when CECOES received an alert about a 57-year-old woman who had been overturned by a wave. Once at the scene, the firefighters verified that she had an ankle injury and the health services proceeded to immobilize it. Next, they placed the woman on a rescue stretcher to take her up to the ambulance. Later, she was transferred to the José Molina Orosa Hospital.
The second incident occurred on the neighboring beach, on Playa Mujeres, at around 5:05 p.m. also this Monday. The 70-year-old woman had suffered a fall and had a possible hip injury. The health services proceeded to immobilize her leg and, immediately afterwards, placed her on the rescue stretcher and transferred her to the ambulance.
In both cases, an ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) was dispatched to the scene.
