Agents of the National Police and the Local Police of Arrecife have arrested two men, aged 39 and 41, both of Colombian nationality, with no police records, in the capital of Lanzarote as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health. The arrested are allegedly linked to a cannabis association in the city, according to sources close to the investigation. During the search of the establishment, 4,900 grams of marijuana, 97 grams of hashish and 950 euros in cash were seized.
The investigation was initiated by agents of the Local Police of Arrecife after becoming aware of the possible sale and distribution of narcotic substances in a premises in the capital of Lanzarote, belonging to a cannabis association.
The police officers were able to verify how narcotic substances were allegedly distributed from the aforementioned establishment, which was located near a public park as well as a primary school, among the individuals who went there. These facts were brought to the attention of the agents of the National Police of the capital of Lanzarote, and the investigation continued jointly.
With the mandatory judicial order, the police agents carried out a search, in which 4,900 grams of marijuana, 97 grams of hashish and 950 euros in cash were seized. The police operation ended with the arrest of two men aged 39 and 41, both of Colombian nationality, with no police records, as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health.
After the corresponding police report was prepared, the detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority. The police intervention was carried out jointly by agents of the National Police Station of Arrecife and the USCI of the Local Police of the capital of Lanzarote.
