National Police agents have arrested two people in Arrecife for an alleged crime against public health. They are R.C.E.A., a 35-year-old man, and J.M.L., a 38-year-old man. Both had a police record and, at the time of their arrest, were carrying 448 grams of hashish. Specifically, the agents seized 10 pills and 14 sheets of said substance. They have already been brought to justice and are free on charges.
According to the Police, their intervention took place during a "security filter, established for the prevention of alcohol and drug consumption." Thus, the agents stopped a vehicle and, when requesting documentation from the two people inside, observed that they showed "obvious nervousness." For this reason, the police decided to carry out a security check on the occupants. They found the 10 hashish pills in the driver's possession and the 14 sheets of the same substance in the passenger's possession "ready for sale."
For these reasons, the Police carried out the arrest of both as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health. After the corresponding police report was prepared, the detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority, who ordered their release on charges, pending trial. The police intervention was carried out by agents assigned to the Arrecife Police Station.
