The Guardia Civil of Fuerteventura arrested on October 8 a man as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health for drug trafficking, after being intercepted aboard an all-terrain vehicle in an operation deployed due to the landing of a rigid-hulled inflatable boat.

In the early morning of October 8, a suspicious rigid-hulled inflatable boat was detected arriving at a beach in the municipality of Antigua, Fuerteventura.

The closure of the area allowed the interception of a vehicle

Immediately, the closure protocol was activated in the area with the deployment of several patrols from the island, which managed to intercept the vehicle at the exits from the coast. Upon identifying the driver and searching the interior of the car, the agents confirmed the possession of the stash.

The seized drug weighed a total of 354 kilograms of hashish, distributed in six large bales and several packages scattered throughout the cabin. Based on the evidence, the Guardia Civil agents proceeded to arrest the driver of the vehicle, who was charged with a crime against public health for trafficking narcotic substances.

Once the corresponding proceedings were completed, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the judicial authority, which ordered his provisional detention without bail.
