Agents assigned to the Citizen Security and Intervention Unit of the Arrecife Local Police have arrested three people this week accused of crimes against public health. The device was started after receiving numerous neighborhood complaints about the sale of narcotics, which was taking place in several parts of this city, specifically in the neighborhoods of Maneje and Valterra.

For this reason, the USCI agents carried out a surveillance service in the areas indicated by the neighbors. The investigation resulted in the arrest this Monday of Y.R.G, 30 years old and a native of Arrecife, who according to the agents "had established a regular point of sale of drugs between Los Geranios Avenue and Guadalajara Street in the Maneje neighborhood".

After verifying the transactions carried out between the detainee and the buyers, the agents arrested him and seized hashish, cocaine and money allegedly obtained from the sale of these narcotics.

Third arrest

The next day, Tuesday, they arrested I.O.A., a native of Barcelona and 25 years old, and M.G.M., a native of Cuba and also 25 years old, on Sotileza Street, in Valterra.

During the surveillance operation, the agents were able to observe how, after a brief dialogue with people who approached the now detainees, "the exchange of money for narcotics took place", according to a statement from the City Council.

The police seized a certain amount of hashish bars that they hid in the vicinity, as well as money from this illicit activity. The agents also identified the buyers and intercepted the acquired narcotic substance.

All detainees were transferred to police stations for the practice of proceedings, and were later placed at the disposal of the judicial authority.
