Around 5:00 PM this Monday, a fire alert was activated at the Lidl supermarket in Puerto del Carmen, which led to the rapid mobilization of the Volunteer Firefighters with the on-duty crew.
Once on site, the personnel carried out a preliminary analysis of the situation and confirmed that the fire had originated from the burning of plastic material outside the establishment.
The firefighters proceeded to prepare a water attack line to reduce the intensity of the flames and cool the supermarket walls, due to the proximity of the fire to the local warehouse area.
After controlling the intensity of the fire, a low-expansion foam line was used to prevent a possible reignition of the fire.
Personnel from Civil Protection of Tías, as well as agents from the Guardia Civil and the Local Police of Tías, also collaborated in the operation.
