The company Autos Vip, located on García Escámez street, corner with Gómez Ulla street in Arrecife, has suffered a robbery in the early hours of this Tuesday to Wednesday. Unknown persons have forced the door, broken a glass, rummaged through the drawers and found a key. With it, they have stolen a vehicle that was inside the store and is valued at about 7,000 euros. In addition, they have also taken 500 euros and several cell phones.

The owner, Pedro Cebrián, assures that they have done him a real "dirty trick", taking into account the current economic situation, and has already reported these events to the National Police. At the moment, there are no detainees.

A neighbor of the area heard "something" about 1.30 am this morning. "He says he saw two people prowling around there with a crowbar, but he didn't think they were robbing. He didn't know where they came from or where they were going," says the owner affected by this robbery to La Voz.

Pedro Cebrián believes that the thieves spent time committing these acts, since they had to "rummage through the drawers of the desk", where the key to this vehicle was hidden, and also in another place where they found "500 euros from an invoice that was to be paid".

"The car was inside the store and they opened the door and took it. When they took the car out, they left the door half closed again," explains Cebrián, who believes that they had to "make noise, because they rummaged". However, as it happened in the early morning "people may not have heard it", although he hopes that the National Police will find those responsible.

"This is criminal"

Despite the "dirty trick" that has been done to him, Cebrián is still happy that the thieves did not take the other two vehicles that were inside the store. However, he points out that this robbery has come at a time when they are "very screwed up" and when "almost all the car stores are closing, because there is terrible unfair competition in the street" that is "destroying" the sector.

"I'm assessing what I do. I want to hold on because it's a long-standing family business, but this is criminal," says the owner of this Arrecife business.
