Arrested for stabbing his partner in Lanzarote

National Police agents in Arrecife arrested a 57-year-old man with multiple police records as the perpetrator of a crime of attempted homicide and gender violence. As La Voz already reported, the events occurred on March 7, inside the victim's home in the capital of Lanzarote, where she lived with her partner.

After suffering the attack, the victim was able to take refuge in an interior room of the house from where she called the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 112, reporting what happened and urgently asking for help. While the police units and health services were going to the scene, the CECOES 112 room agent was assisting the victim by telephone, giving the necessary medical instructions.

The detainee attacked his partner, 56 years old, using a knife that caused several injuries, the most serious being the one inflicted on the neck.

Once at the address, the police officers managed to access the interior of the house where they located the aggressor and after adopting the necessary security measures, they managed to neutralize him, arrest him, and secure the place so that the health services could access and assist the victim, who, once they managed to stabilize her, was transferred to the José Molina Orosa hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery and where she is still recovering from the injuries suffered.

The investigation was carried out by agents belonging to the Family and Women's Care group (UFAM), who managed to locate the knife that the arrested person used in the attack inside the house.

Once the police proceedings were completed, they placed the detainee at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority, who ordered his immediate imprisonment.
