The Local Police of Tías arrested a man last July 5 accused of running over a citizen in a pedestrian crossing on the Islas Canarias avenue in Puerto del Carmen, near Calle Finlandia. This was reported by sources from the council this Thursday to La Voz.

The victim, a foreign resident in the municipality, was crossing a pedestrian crossing, walking her two dogs when the vehicle, a Renault Megane, ran her over.

As a result of the accident, the two dogs died and she had to be evacuated in serious condition to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The driver of the vehicle, who was unharmed, was arrested and then released provisionally, according to these same sources.
