The run-over of two young people that took place on the morning of this past Tuesday next to the Open Mall shopping center in Arrecife could have been due to a lack of visibility on the part of the driver, as La Voz has learned.
The young people, a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old girl, suffered a head trauma which, in the case of the male, was serious. The incident took place around 08:00 hours this Tuesday, when 112 received a call alerting to the run-over. Both injured were transferred to the José Molina Orosa Hospital, where they were discharged that same day.
Both injured got out of a car and crossed the road, at which point the run-over occurred.
As La Voz has learned, the Local Police, who are investigating the facts to determine the causes that provoked the run-over, find the driver's explanation credible after the incident, in which he stated he had no visibility at the time of the events because he had the sun in front of him.
After the incident, the officers administered an alcohol test to the driver, which was negative. Furthermore, the Local Police also rule out that the driver was speeding.
