The Civil Guard of the Main Post of Tías has investigated a person for the alleged authorship of a crime of misappropriation, upon receiving two packages with around 2,000 antigen tests that a nearby health center had requested and that were valued at more than 5,000 euros.

The investigation began following a complaint filed by the representative of that company, reporting that the person in charge of another private medical center had received two packages in his name, each with about 1,000 antigen detection tests.

Apparently, the complainant became aware that the merchandise had been mistakenly delivered to another location, which is why he requested the sanitary material. According to the agents, on the first occasion he returned most of what he had received, about 800 rapid antigen tests, and on the second occasion he kept the entire contents of the package, almost about 1,000 more tests.

Given what was reported by the complainant, the Civil Guard found sufficient evidence of the authorship of a crime of misappropriation, since the proximity of the medical centers caused confusion in the delivery person when delivering the packages, which were received by the investigated person knowing that he was not the recipient.

"In addition, he seized the two packages without having to pay anything as they had been previously paid for and knowing that they were rapid tests for the detection of SARS – CoV – 2, the first shipment being valued at 2,650 euros and the second at 2,451 euros," the Civil Guard points out. Therefore, he was investigated for a crime of misappropriation, leaving the proceedings carried out at the judicial disposal of the corresponding duty court of Arrecife.
