The National Police of Arrecife, thanks to the use of the electrical device provided, has managed to reduce and safeguard the physical integrity of a man who wanted to harm himself with a knife in Lanzarote.
Last Wednesday night, December 4, the National Police received a call to the 091 telephone number of the Operations Room, from a citizen reporting that a man was inside his home in a high state of aggression, he was carrying two knives and threatened to harm himself.
The agents immediately went to the referenced place, interviewing a witness, an acquaintance of the man who intended to injure himself. He told the agents that his friend was inside the house. He also added that this person had consumed several narcotic substances and was in a high state of aggression.

This man was locked in his house, so they needed the assistance of firefighters to open the door and also, in anticipation of the possible consequences, they requested the presence of an ambulance.
Once inside the home and with adequate security measures, the officers observed this individual in a high state of aggression. This person did not understand the agents' instructions and at one point tried to lunge at them.
To safeguard the physical integrity of both the agents and this man, the electrical immobilizer provided was used, thus managing to reduce this person.
After being secured, he was attended by the paramedics who came to the scene and was referred to a hospital in the capital of Lanzarote.
