Agents of the Local Police of Arrecife have managed this week to prevent a new violent occupation of a house located in the area of Charco de San Ginés, in the capital of Lanzarote.
The Local Police officers were alerted on the night of last Tuesday, February 11, from an Alarm Center alerting of the presence of 'intruders' inside a property located on the neuralgic César Manrique promenade, on the banks of the Charco de San Ginés.
The rapid action of the local agents of Arrecife has made it possible to stop a new violent occupation of a house in the city. Upon arriving at the place, the agents verify that the door of the house was forced, a window damaged, and the alarm system was manipulated and forced. The agents of the Local Police of Arrecife realize that inside the house there were two people, one of them a minor.
With the police actions, they were charged with a crime of usurpation of the property. The agents of the Local Police of Arrecife have made the young woman available to the Prosecutor's Office for Minors.
With the police checks, the agents have found out that one of the two 'squatters' was a minor and had escaped in May of last year from a Minors Center.
The Local Police of Arrecife requests citizens that when they have indications of a violent occupation of a property in the municipality, quickly activate the police presence so that they can intervene and investigate, and find the perpetrators.
During the past year, the Local Police of Arrecife, mandated by the mayor of the city Yonathan de León, have participated in several devices to evict buildings or homes where neighbors had warned of insecurity and unsanitary conditions in the area. In all cases, the Local Police mediated with these evicted squatters. The properties were walled up by their owners.
