The Local Police of Arrecife activated a special device for the evacuation, by air, of a patient in serious condition. This special service, recently carried out this June, was requested from the capital's Local Police Corps from the Doctor Molina Orosa University Hospital, in the capital of Lanzarote.
As reported in the networks of the official profiles of the Local Police of Arrecife, this device was activated at the request of the Canary Health Service (SCS) with the aim of facilitating the circulation of a medicalized ambulance that had to travel, at an abnormally reduced speed, through the main roads of the island —LZ-20, LZ-3 and LZ-2—, in special traffic conditions, due to the delicate state of the patient and the needs of the health team on board.
The Local Police of Arrecife provided logistical support during that day (in the early hours of Saturday) for the urgent transfer of a patient in critical condition, from the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital to the César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport.
The intervention of the Arrecife agents allowed the escort and securing of the road, guaranteeing at all times that the health vehicle could circulate without interruptions and ensuring smooth circulation. Access and arrival of the ambulance to the airport platform was also facilitated, where the patient was evacuated by air to a hospital center with a higher level of care outside of Lanzarote.
