A 31-year-old man has been rescued by the GES helicopter after falling into the sea with another young man in the area between Los Charcones and Los Hervideros in Playa Blanca.
The incident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. when CECOES was notified that two young men had fallen into the sea and were struggling to reach the shore. The Emergency Consortium, beach service, a basic life support ambulance from the SUC, Local Police, Civil Guard, the GES helicopter, and Maritime Rescue were dispatched to the scene.
One of them, who managed to get out of the water on his own, was assessed by the medical personnel and presented some trauma and erosions - none serious - and refused to be transferred to a health center.
For their part, the firefighters kept the other affected person afloat until the arrival of the GES helicopter to the area. The GES helicopter rescued him, hoisted him onto the aircraft, and transferred him to a safe area where he was assessed and assisted by the SUC personnel who reported that he had no apparent injuries.
