The GES helicopter rescued a 45-year-old hiker on Sunday afternoon in Montaña Cabrera, in Teguise. The incident took place at approximately 7:30 p.m. At that time, the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert reporting that a hiker had suffered a leg injury in a difficult-to-access location, could not continue her journey, and required medical assistance.
An ambulance, local police, and the GES helicopter were dispatched to the scene. The helicopter rescuers descended from the aircraft and reached the hiker. Subsequently, after being immobilized, she was hoisted onto the aircraft and transferred to Lanzarote Airport. Once on the ground, SUC personnel assisted the hiker, who, at the initial moment of assistance, presented a moderate leg injury and was transferred to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.
The Local Police collaborated with the rest of the emergency resources.
