A 66-year-old man of French nationality had to be rescued after an accident in Caldera Blanca in the municipality of Tinajo. The incident took place at 12.27 pm this Monday, March 13, when CECOES received an alert requesting assistance for a person with a trauma to the ankle in that area.
The Emergency Consortium, a helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES), a basic life support ambulance from the SUC and the Local Police have travelled to the scene.
The firefighters have accessed the affected person who had trauma to one leg, they have provided first aid and have requested the intervention of the helicopter from the Coordinating Centre. Subsequently, the rescuers of the helicopter, which has landed in the area, together with the firefighters have proceeded to rescue the affected person to evacuate him to the César Manrique Airport – Lanzarote.
Once on land, healthcare personnel proceeded to assist him and transferred him to the Doctor José Molina Orosa hospital.
Local Police have intervened in the device deployed in the area.
