Firefighters have extinguished between this Thursday and Friday two fires affecting two homes in Playa Blanca and Arrieta, according to the Emergency Consortium.
The most recent fire, which occurred around 03:45 AM this Saturday, took place in a house in the northern town of Arrieta. When they arrived at the scene, the personnel confirmed that there were two distinct foci, one inside the dwelling where a mattress was burning and another outside affecting garbage remains and belongings.
The firefighters proceeded to extinguish both fires using sprayed water, the fire being completely extinguished. A Civil Guard patrol also moved to the scene.
On the other hand, another fire affected a home in Playa Blanca around 4:37 p.m. this Thursday on La Concha street. After being alerted by CECOES, the emergency services moved to the place where they observed that a mattress and a rug were burning.
According to the Consortium, the mattress could have fallen from the wall of a nearby house inside which there was a boat that was slightly affected by the fire.
Following this, they refrigerated the affected area of the boat to prevent a possible re-ignition and removed the affected mattress to a safe area. Likewise, the Local Police also collaborated in the service.
