The man arrested for stabbing a man last Thursday in Arrecife is already in provisional prison, awaiting trial. After being arrested by the Local Police hours after the event, the alleged perpetrator of the stabbing was brought to justice this Saturday. After his statement, the presiding judge of the Court of Instruction Number 2 of Arrecife charged him with a crime of aggravated injury and ordered his entry into provisional prison, "communicated and without bail".

According to the Local Police, whose Citizen Security Unit carried out the arrest, several people witnessed the moment in which the defendant, 24 years old and initials L.M.G.N., allegedly stabbed the victim, a 33-year-old man who was seriously injured.

The young man, who has "police records for violent acts", according to the National Police, was arrested hours later, thanks to the "description" of those witnesses, who also indicated to the agents the places he frequented. At the time of the arrest, explained the head of the Local Police, the accused "had changed clothes" and had put on gloves "to cover a wound on his hand", which he would have made during the aggression and that "could identify him". The clothes he was allegedly wearing at the time of the fight were found by the agents and have become evidence in the procedure.
