The Fiscal and Border Patrol of the Civil Guard of Costa Teguise has administratively denounced four residents of Lanzarote for several infractions of the Canary Islands Fisheries Law, seizing a total of 45 kilograms of salema, which were delivered to a charitable association in Arrecife.
The events occurred on July 26, when agents of the Fiscal and Border Patrol (PAFIF) were conducting surveillance service on the coast of Tinajo and around 04:30 hours surprised in the area of Los Risquetes four people with the aforementioned amount of fish and illegal fishing gear, in this case a trammel net.
Subsequently, the agents denounced the four people for two infractions, consisting of capturing more than double the allowed amount per person per day - the maximum established is 5 kilograms - and also for using prohibited, unauthorized or non-regulation fishing gear or equipment.
According to the Civil Guard, "the captured goods were immediately delivered to a reception association located in Arrecife" and the administrative complaints will be sent to the competent authority in charge of the corresponding administrative sanctioning files, which is the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Hunting and Fishing of the Cabildo of Lanzarote.
