The Civil Guard dismantled a marijuana plantation last Tuesday in the municipality of Tinajo, in the town of El Cuchillo, where they arrested a 62-year-old man with a police record for similar events. Now, J.P.D. faces new charges for a crime against public health in its form of cultivation or production of drugs.
The operation began as a result of "different investigations" carried out by the Civil Guard "for the prevention of drug trafficking." In this way, as they explain in a statement, they had indications that a farm in El Cuchillo was being used as a point for the cultivation and production of marijuana. When the agents went to the place, they located 69 plants, which were in a plot attached to the detainee's house, which was "used as a greenhouse".
"The circumstance is that J.P.D. has a police record of the same nature, with another marijuana plantation of the same characteristics being dismantled in April 2016, with 263 plants," recalls the Civil Guard.
In addition to proceeding with the seizure of the 69 marijuana plants, the agents also seized different utensils for the production and cultivation of the drug, leaving the detainee at the disposal of the Arrecife duty court.
