The **Civil Guard** from the Morro Jable Main Post (Fuerteventura) has investigated **three men, two of them** with previous convictions for crimes against **property, drug trafficking, and smuggling**. The three were located on the coast when they were allegedly waiting for a boat to arrive to unload narcotic substances.

The events took place on December 26, when the Civil Guard detected a vessel with suspicious behavior coming from the open sea, heading towards Matas Blancas beach, in the town of Costa Calma.

Upon receiving the alert from the operational services center, a joint operation was deployed with agents from the main post in Morro Jable and the post in Gran Tarajal. In the area, the agents located three individuals and two vehicles: an all-terrain vehicle driven by one of the suspects and a parked van with its doors open and the interior empty, apparently prepared for loading merchandise.

Given the hypothesis that it might be a stash, officers initiated a search of the coast and its surroundings. Shortly after, a citizen reported the presence of several bundles floating near the intervention site. Thanks to their collaboration, the packages were towed to the shore, where officers confirmed they contained pressed pills of a substance similar to hashish, weighing a total of 24 kilograms.

To rule out the existence of more packages in the sea, the research area of the main Morro Jable post continued the search aboard a recreational boat. In the vicinity, a fourth package with identical characteristics was located, inside which the same substance was found, adding another 44 kilograms. In total, the operation made it possible to seize 68 kilograms of hashish.

The three investigated individuals, along with the proceedings initiated, were placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction on duty in Puerto del Rosario. The seized drug will be sent to the Functional Area of Health in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria for weighing, analysis, and study.
