The Civil Guard of the Main Post of Costa Teguise arrested on the 24th a 46-year-old man, of foreign nationality and initials S.P.G., as the alleged perpetrator of offenses of resistance, disobedience and against road safety, for refusing to perform alcohol tests, even insulting and threatening to kill the agents.

The events occurred around 11:30 p.m., when a Civil Guard patrol saw a rental vehicle zig-zagging along Avenida del Mar in Costa Teguise.

When the agents stopped the vehicle, they observed how its driver, S.P.G., showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol or another narcotic or similar substance, so they immediately notified a couple of Local Police officers as they were in a demarcation where the municipal corporation is competent in matters of road safety.

However, the driver refused to perform the mandatory alcohol tests and began to insult the agents, even threatening to kill them according to the Civil Guard, so he was arrested and later brought before the corresponding Court on duty in Arrecife.
