The Civil Guard arrested a person last Saturday, after the Puerto del Carmen parade, for disobedience and resistance to authority. Apparently, the events took place when the grand Carnival parade had already finished on one of the participating floats, according to La Voz.

At that moment, a man got on the float to turn off the music and his eight-year-old son got on behind him. Then, the Civil Guard asked him to get off, but he tried to explain that he had to disconnect the music.

According to several witnesses, the agents tried to get both this man and his son off the float and the child "ended up on the ground". It was then that the father became nervous and, according to the Civil Guard, "assaulted one of the civil guards". "He pushed him and his arrest was carried out," they explained to La Voz.

Several people who witnessed this incident deny that this man resisted and also assure that the child was left alone after his father's arrest.

Another arrest

That same day, the Civil Guard arrested another person for disobedience and resistance to authority also in Puerto del Carmen. According to the agents, a man of foreign nationality became very nervous when the Civil Guard went to identify him and tried to self-harm.

Therefore, the agents had to intervene, arresting him and transferring him to the police station in Puerto del Carmen.
