The boat that arrived last night in the Pechiguera area brought 32 packages of hashish (13.5 kilos), as confirmed by both the Local Police of Yaiza and the Benemérita. In total, eleven people have been arrested, five men, three women and a minor with passports from Morocco.

The boat arrived around 10:00 p.m. and it was fishermen in the area who alerted of the arrival when they detected it on the southern coast. At first, the agents of the Local Police of Yaiza arrested five people of Moroccan origin, three women and two men. According to the Local Police, 8 kilograms of hashish divided into bundles that they brought protected and hidden in plastic barrels were seized, although later the Benemérita estimated the amount of drug carried at 13.5 kilos.

The Local Police transferred the five detainees to the Civil Guard barracks in Yaiza to be attended by Red Cross personnel and to advance the appropriate legal proceedings.

Later, the Civil Guard that collaborated in the operation by expanding the search area, found four more people. During the morning of this Wednesday, the device for locating more irregular immigrants has continued, not ruling out that more came on the boat. According to the Civil Guard, they have recently arrested two more people at the Arrecife Airport who are allegedly related to said boat.
