The 17-year-old boy who was hit by a car last Thursday while riding a scooter in Mácher has died. The young man entered the hospital in critical condition and had severe head trauma.
He has been in the ICU of the hospital center but was finally unable to overcome the injuries he suffered.
As reported by the Minister of Social Welfare of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Marci Acuña, the young man was one of the unaccompanied minors staying at the Casa Hogar de Mácher. Acuña lamented the sad news, "he was a boy who was already integrated and even working."
As will be recalled, the accident took place at approximately 4:30 p.m. on the LZ-2. The young man had severe head trauma and initially went into cardiorespiratory arrest and after performing advanced resuscitation maneuvers they were able to reverse the situation, but after 72 hours the minor has died.
The Local Police took charge of the corresponding report.
