The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has increased to orange the warning for rainfall for Thursday in Lanzarote, La Graciosa, and the rest of the islands in the archipelago. Specifically, rainfall of up to 15 millimeters per square meter is expected in one hour, along with thunderstorms that could eventually affect the capital, Arrecife, which experienced flooding earlier this year. These rains may occur with a probability between 10 and 40%.

The passage of storm Claudia through the Canary Islands will leave rain, storms, strong winds, and rough seas in the archipelago. Furthermore, it has forced the regional government to establish a state of alert due to the risk of flooding, precipitation, and wind, as well as a pre-alert for storms and rough seas.

This Tuesday, Aemet had issued up to four yellow alerts in Lanzarote due to the risk of accumulated rainfall of up to 15 millimeters per square meter in one hour, as well as winds exceeding 70 kilometers per hour in Lanzarote, with force seven and the presence of isolated storms. Now, the rain alert has been upgraded.

Wind warning until 5:00 PM

The warning for maximum wind gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour will remain in effect between 00:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Thursday, with a probability of 40-70%, affecting Lanzarote and La Graciosa.

Meanwhile, the **warning for isolated storms** will take place between 09:00 and 15:00 in the afternoon, with a probability between 10% and 40%. Added to this are the **coastal warnings**, with force seven winds, and a high probability between 06:00 and 14:00 in the morning.
