A man of Maghrebi origin was seriously injured in the early hours of this Sunday, November 16, after a knife fight that occurred around 04:00 hours on Igualdad street, in Arrecife, as confirmed by the National Police.
The victim received a stab wound in the back and, despite the injury, managed to move to a nearby house, where he knocked on the door seeking help. Upon opening, the woman in the home observed the scene and immediately alerted emergency services.
A medicalized ambulance was dispatched to the scene, and its personnel assisted the injured person and urgently transferred him to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital. There, he had to be surgically operated on to remove the bladed weapon. The victim remains in the UVI observation area, and although his condition is serious, he is out of danger.
Forensic Police agents carried out an on-site inspection of the scene, while officers from the Judicial Police of the Arrecife Police Station have taken charge of the investigation. A patrol also went to the hospital to collect the weapon used in the assault and submit it for examination in search of evidence.
No arrests have been made at this time.
