The National Police has arrested so far this year four men and two women as alleged perpetrators of crimes against public health. The detainees were intercepted by officials after carrying out routine checks on “hot” flights upon arrival at the César Manrique Airport in Lanzarote.
Within the framework of these six arrests, a total of 3.7 kilos of cocaine and 1.3 kilos of heroin transported by the detainees have been seized, depending on the case, in false bottoms of luggage, attached to the body and hidden under clothing or in the interior of their body.
The National Police periodically carries out routine checks on flights called “hot” upon arrival at Spanish airports. It should be noted that last year a total of 14 people were arrested at the aforementioned airport when they were also trying to introduce narcotics into the islands.
