The Emergency Consortium had to extinguish two fires of seven containers in Puerto del Carmen on the night of Friday, December 27.

The first alert was at about 10:00 p.m. on Guanapay Street where four glass containers and one cardboard collection container were burning in their entirety. The intensity of the flames caused damage to an electrical panel due to the radiation of the fire. Emergency crews extinguished the fire using sprayed water and a direct jet to control and extinguish the flames that affected the containers.

Later, the Consortium was alerted to a new fire on Teide Street. Upon arriving at the scene, it was found that the fire affected two organic waste collection containers, which were completely burned. The firefighters put out the fire using sprayed water and ensured that there was no risk of it spreading to nearby structures.

The Volunteer Firefighters of Lanzarote, Civil Protection, Local Police and firefighters went to the scene of the fires.
