The National Police in Arrecife has arrested a man, with a police record, as the perpetrator of a crime of damage for allegedly setting fire to several containers and vehicles in the capital of Lanzarote.
The events occurred in the early morning of November 14 in the Altavista neighborhood, where the detainee caused a series of fires that affected four vehicles and two waste containers.
Police experts determined that the fires had been caused, leading to the start of an investigation that managed to identify the perpetrator.
With this arrest, and with that of another individual who was charged with burning another fifteen containers and three vehicles that occurred on October 28, the agents have cleared all cases of burning vehicles and containers that had been occurring in the Altavista neighborhood of the capital of Lanzarote.
Once the police proceedings were completed, the detainee was brought before the competent Judicial Authority, which ordered his immediate imprisonment.
It should be noted that each and every intentional fire is investigated by the National Police, through a multidisciplinary team composed of officials from the Scientific Police and the Judicial Police. In Arrecife, this work has been reflected in managing to identify and arrest a total of nine individuals as perpetrators of intentional fires so far this year.
