This Monday tragedy was close in one of the beaches of Papagayo when several large stones fell on the sand.
The events occurred around 3:00 p.m. this Monday when a citizen called CECOES claiming to have seen several people in the collapse area. Local Police agents, the Emergency Consortium and staff from the Yaiza City Council Works Department went to the scene.
Once on the scene, the firefighters verified that the affected area had a perimeter of approximately 10 square meters. The emergency teams, with the help of a backhoe from the Yaiza City Council, began the tasks of clearing debris and moving stones. Finally, after moving the largest stones, the presence of buried people was ruled out.
