A six-year-old boy had to be transferred to the Molina Orosa Hospital last Tuesday after suffering significant injuries to his feet while swimming on Famara beach, apparently caused by an animal.

Initially, his relatives thought it could be bites from a mako shark, but sources consulted by La Voz suggest that the tears may have occurred when he accidentally stepped on an angel shark.

"It's not that he was attacked, but it made those cuts with its tail," the same sources point out, emphasizing that the presence of angel sharks (also known as angel sharks) is frequent on the island's coasts. Unlike mako sharks, angel sharks tend to be closer to the beaches and do not usually pose a danger to bathers.

However, its flattened shape and its ability to camouflage itself with the seabed may have contributed to the child not seeing the animal and stepping on it or coming into contact with it accidentally, which could have caused the injuries.

The events took place around 7:00 p.m., near Los Noruegos. After being transferred to the hospital, the little one received 20 stitches, but the sources consulted by La Voz specify that "he is doing well".
