A fire in the kitchen of a catering establishment located in the core of Costa Teguise resulted in the morning of this Monday without injuries, although it required the intervention of personnel from the Security and Emergency Consortium.
The alert was received at 9:43 hours, alerting of a fire in a dwelling/premises on Avenida Islas Canarias street, in the Pueblo Marinero area, in the municipality of Teguise.
Upon their arrival, firefighters found Local Police and Civil Guard agents at the scene, who had already secured the area. The personnel verified that the fire was located in an industrial fryer, proceeding first to cut off the electricity and gas supply to the premises.
Subsequently, the extinguishing was carried out through the application of a suitable extinguishing agent, covering the fryer and applying water to the surroundings to accelerate the cooling of the oil, thus avoiding possible re-ignitions.
Once the flames were extinguished, firefighters carried out ventilation work with an electric fan to evacuate the smoke accumulated inside the establishment and verified that there was no risk of re-ignition.
Finally, the owners were informed that the facilities must be inspected by authorized technicians before resuming activity.
