A pharmacy on the Rambla Medular in Arrecife suffered an attempted robbery on Monday morning at around 8 o'clock when the premises were opening its doors.
According to one of the workers, the thief, a middle-aged man with a kind of iron stick, entered just behind the pharmacists when they were opening the pharmacy. "He went directly towards the cash machine and started hitting it while asking my colleagues to open it," she declares.
"They can't open the machine and just at that moment another colleague came out and distracted him as much as he could," explains the worker. As the man couldn't steal anything, he ran out of the pharmacy.
After that, the workers immediately called the police. "Fortunately there is no damage to regret and it has only been a specific event that has happened and the authorities acted quite quickly," she concludes.
