An electrical outage left a large part of the north of the island and La Graciosa without power this Tuesday, January 2nd, causing inconvenience among residents and affecting the activity of several hospitality businesses, some of which were forced to close temporarily.

From the early hours of the outage, several residents contacted La Voz to inquire about the cause of the incident and report the inconveniences caused, especially for homes and businesses that depend on the electricity supply for their daily activities.

The manager of the Emergency Consortium has explained that the blackout was due to a fault in the electrical grid, which affected several distribution lines in the north of the island and in La Graciosa. According to him, Endesa's technical teams have been working from the outset to locate the fault and restore service as soon as possible.

The supply interruption is having a direct impact on bars and restaurants in the area, some of which have opted to close due to the impossibility of maintaining their normal operations.
